Our Story

During his many years of work as an activist in some of Brazil’s and Haiti’s most impoverished areas, German-born Dominik Prinz, BØRN's Founder, kept meeting children who were fighting illnesses that could easily be avoided.

He learned from their parents that they often couldn’t afford the necessary vaccines that would reverse the fact that every 5 seconds, somewhere in the world, a child dies of a preventable disease. To Dominik, this made no sense.

He founded BØRN in 2017 with the vision to help improve newborns’ access to life-saving vaccines.

Together with a team of designers from New York, Japan and Madrid he set out to create a candle so beautiful, anyone should want one – because with every single purchase BØRN would make sure a vaccine is provided, and a life saved.
